FT R&D is the research center of France Telecom. The group contributing to the BASEXPO project is composed of 10 permanent members and 3 PhD students. The activity of the group is in dosimetry applied to the interactions between radio frequency and the human body. This activity started in 1994.

The research domain encompasses the implementation of computational techniques (FDTD, FEM, MoM, hybrid methods...) and the development of measurement tools and methods for the assessment of human exposure to radiation from telecommunications equipment.

Dr. Wiart, who will be responsible for the activities of the proposed project, is the convenor of working group 1 of the TC106x of CENELEC (group in charge of mobile phone and base station standards). His research interests include numerical methods, the interaction of electromagnetic fields with humans, dosimetry and EMC.

He has been vice chair of COST 244 bis and is a member of the COST 281 steering committee. He is the leader of the French national project ADONIS.

Joe Wiart has authored and co-authored more than 100 scientific papers in journals and conferences. He has been an IEEE senior Member since 2002 and SEE senior member since 1998.
