The Radiocommunications Laboratory (RCL) at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is directed by Prof. J. N. Sahalos. The activity of the group is mainly in RF and microwave applications both in telecommunications and biomedicine. Research in non-ionizing radiation dosimetry started about 5 years ago, with the implementation of computational techniques (FDTD and MoM) for the assessment of human exposure to radiation from telecommunications equipment (MTE and base-station antennas). Dr. Samaras, who will be responsible for the activities of the proposed project, has worked within the IT’IS group under the supervision of Prof. Kuster and has gained experience in numerical calculations, in particular the modelling of electrothermal heating. Dr. Samaras is a member of the TE75 committee of the Hellenic Organization for Standardization (ELOT) and was also a member of the CENELEC TC211 committee.
